  DSPIC30F6012A-20E/PT is a high-performance, 16-bit digital signal controller. The core has a 24bit instruction word. The program counter (PC) is 23-bits wide with the least significant bit (LSb) always clear. The working register array consists of 16 x 16-bit registers, each of which can act as data, address or offset registers. One working register (W15) operates as a software stack pointer for interrupts and calls. The dsPIC DSC devices feature a 16/16-bit signed fractional divide operation, as well as 32/16-bit and 16/16-bit signed and unsigned integer divide operations, in the form of single instruction iterative divides. The data accumulator consists of a 40-bit adder/subtracter with automatic sign extension logic. The round logic is a combinational block that performs a conventional (biased) or convergent (unbiased) round function during an accumulator write (store).
