Product Information
Product Overview
DT100105 is a MCP16502 evaluation board developed to evaluate the MCP16502 high-performance PMIC designed for SAMA7G, SAMA5D2 and SAM9x6 MPUs. The device features 4 DC-DC buck converters capable of delivering 1A each, 2 LDOs with 300mA current capability and I2C programable output voltages and 4 operating modes: Active, Low Power, Hibernate and High Performance Mode. The VIN supply has a 2.7V-5.5V range and VOUT has a 1.2V-3.7V range for Buck1 and the two LDOs and 0.6-1.85V for Buck2, Buck3 and Buck4. An on-board MCP2221, which is a USB 2.0 to I2C/UART protocol converter with GPIO, is placed on the board to simplify the configuration of MCP16502. The application allows for both manual control of power state pins through 3-pin jumpers on PWRHLD, LPM and HPM pins and software control using the I2C Monitor GUI. Additionally, an on-board load transient generator circuit is provided to evaluate the load step response of some of the buck channels.
